How circular attribution becomes apparent consensus

Trace the origin

Several links do not necessarily represent several sources. We follow the publisher behind a statement. Two pages can look independent while relying on the same release, so the source trail matters more than the number of repetitions.

A source dependency

One unattributed press release can travel through a chain of apparently separate articles. A short brief needs enough provenance for another reader to retrace it. Record the publisher role, the exact statement and the page consulted. Several secondary summaries can share one origin; their agreement should not be described as independent confirmation.

Keep the trail visible

Draw the dependency chain and count original observations separately. Keep the question, the source reference and the remaining limitation together so that a later reader can reconstruct the reasoning.
