Trace the origin

Different publishers may have different reasons for describing the same subject. We follow the publisher behind a statement. Two pages can look independent while relying on the same release, so the source trail matters more than the number of repetitions.

A source dependency

A retailer’s complete-looking table can conceal an untraceable origin. A short brief needs enough provenance for another reader to retrace it. Record the publisher role, the exact statement and the page consulted. Several secondary summaries can share one origin; their agreement should not be described as independent confirmation.

Keep the trail visible

Identify the publisher role before relying on the table. Keep the question, the source reference and the remaining limitation together so that a later reader can reconstruct the reasoning.
